Satellite internet

Hello!   I am trying to find solutions for internet that are not long-term monthly subscriptions.  May not be possible I suppose, but almost everywhere we camp has at least our cellular available which is fine.  A few places we camp have nothing at all and both my husband and I need to be accessible for work at least by phone.  Are there options for wifi access that offer stop/start short periods of coverage?

  • Google Rent Starlink. There are companies that rent the equipment and service for short time use.

  • Starlink allows you to pick up service by the month. Not the cheapest option but as long as it's got a good view of the sky it works.

I doubt anyone is going to let you turn it on for the weekend.

  • Many rv parks have Jabba. They are horrible- do not use them!

  • Hey, maybe check out HomeFi. I live in a rural area and work from home-- l've been able to get reliable internet from them. I've also been able to take the device with me while traveling. It's month-to-month, so no long-term plans. Hope this helps.
