Forum Discussion
- cekkkExplorerThis will probably be moved, but a search of the subject will open many discussions. Personally I like DISH over Direct. For RVers they have
the fairly new Tailgater satellite that, coupled with the 211 or 211k receiver can have you up and running in minutes. Setting out the Tailgater just means placing it on the ground with a southern exposure, hooking up its coax to it and the 211, five minutes. Turn on the receiver and it finds the satellites and downloads all necessary info in about 15 minutes. If you are more than roughly a hundred miles from your home and want the locals in your new area, a call to DISH will have them hook you up with locals in that new area. You need a physical address to get that done. If not in an RV park give them a nearby store's address. Naturally you need a program package. - 2oldmanExplorer II

bumpy - Bill_SatelliteExplorer IIFor US customers it's choice of Dish or DirecTV. Compare the services and make a choice. There is not one that is better than another (it's much like Ford or Chevy) but there are slight differences which might make one better "for you".
- skipncharExplorerNeed a LOT more information to be of much help. You can get systems priced from under $50.00 to a couple of thousand and they ALL get the same programing. I have a $50.00 system with a home made dish stand and a used dish ($10.00). It takes me about 15 minutes to set it up. The other end of the scale has zero set up time so you're paying for the conveniences.
Good luck / Skip - Dick_BExplorerWe have a dome but next time I think I would opt for those portable ones that find the satellite automatically. Too many times we are parked behind a tree and can't `see' the satellite.
- chuckftboyExplorerPersonally I like Dish. Mostly because I use the Tailgater with the 211k receiver and its very easy to set up. Progeamming isn't much different between different providers but the Tailgater is so easy,I seldom use my KVH roof mounted dish.
