Yes malware, but not necessarily daughter's email hacked, more likely spoofed.

I would agree, except that they evidently have her name and contact list. Hacked and spoofed or just spoofed, either way delete and move on like someone else said. If the e-mail causes you enough concern to ask about it, your instincts are usually right.
