Search.conduit.com

Yesterday I found a problem with my laptop computer. I ran Malwarebytes and the scan showed three problems which were deleted. Fine, I thought.

Today I booted up the computer and when I do a Google search it goes to Search.conduit.com and I don't like it. I went to control panel, uninstall and clicked on search.conduit and hit enter. In a moment or two, the program was deleted. Unfortunately, when I go to Google, I STILL get search.conduit.com. It does not appear on my list of programs.

When I Googled "How to get rid of search. etc" I ran across a few programs guaranteed to completely remove the program and all its parts in just a few moments. Though it sounds good, I do not want to allow more trash into my computer and often these 'cures' are only more problems to be dealt with. Does anyone have experience with this particular blemish on my computer?

Thanks,

Paul

  • You may want to get rid of the add-ons on some browsers. They will stay whey the app is deleted.
  • Had the same issue. There are several methods
    1) System Restore + Safe Mode + Manual removal (Start>Find>Condoit)
    2) MBAM free + AdwCleaner free here
    3) Manual editing in browsers
  • Try doing a restore back to a date when your computer was OK. Maybe!

  • Beware of the claims that "this can remove that problem completely in just a few clicks" - those are scams and will result in more problems. If you cannot find the culprit on your own, use a recent restore point dated BEFORE the problem started and restore your computer to that point. That should eliminate any installations that happened without you being aware of them.
  • I had similar problem and had to go to "Control Panel" , Uninstall a program, and found "LESS TAB" and Uninstalled it. After that I may have uninstalled something like that do not remember. McAfee instructed me what to do. Tom Good Luck
  • Which browser? Check your browsers for conduit addon extensions and disable or delete them.
