Being debt free doesn't preclude you from using a credit card, it just means you use one wisely. I've been debt free for many years, but I have three credit cards that I use on a regular basis. None ever have a balance, quite contrary that they all pay some kind of reward for using. I gotten back a few thousand dollars over the years of use. Doesn't make much sense not to use one.
