I'll bet you were using DISH On Demand to stream those movies -- On Demand uses Internet broadband data . . . and lots of it!
One more time . . . Using DISH Sling technology to stream programs from a Hopper (or 722) receiver to local devices (iPad, etc) uses no internet broadband data.
My impression from the OP is that the RV where the streaming is being downloaded is NOT in the same location as the residence with the Hopper that's originating the stream. There's no way to do that without using the Internet and the resulting data costs.
