Severe weather alerts via text message to cellphone?

I was wondering if there is any sort of severe weather alert service and/or app for a smartphone (android). I'm looking for something that would provide alerts for specific gps coordinates or maybe by...

I get them from weather.com app.

The cool thing is they come to your phone without your doing anything because with gps they know where you are.
