Did you us task manager to see what's hogging resources? - T18skyguyExplorerIf your using a cloud backup, they are usually very resource heavy as well.

Max out your memory and install a SSD. New life blood for old laptops. (Typing on a "middle of the road", 10+ year old laptop with both of those upgrades.)
From the COMMAND prompt run PERFMON /RES - ChakaraExplorerSSD is amazing for performance - if you have an old spinning disk. 3 years ago I was gonna make work get me a new computer. Instead I installed an SSD and I still use it every day with no issues.
