Small Inverter Issue & Recommendation

I have been using a small inverter for TV and iPod player. I paired up the inverter (Bestek 300w MSW) with my iHome player (was using in the house). It worked fine for a couple of weeks and then would no longer play the iPod (wouldn't work in dock or usb mode). I like the iHome so I bought another one. You guessed it. Same deal. Even though the Bestek indicates it supports the iPod it seemingly has blown two players.

Anyhow, I'm looking for a recommendation for a good combination of radio/iPod player and small inverter. Pure sine wave? My regular rig inverter is MSW and works fine with the iHome btw. Thanks.
