The "unlimited" plan from Verizon is a marketing name. There is a cap unless you have a very old data plan (10+ years) and are grandfathered in.
The issue with using a smart TV and MiFi is data usage. The MiFi will certainly keep up if you have data coverage and your TV will see it as a data source. Unfortunately, your TV doesn't know if it is connected to a phone with a limited data plan, or a home wifi network with a huge data limit. I have used my phone to run my TV when my Internet is out and I hit my 5G limit in a few hours.
