Can anyone tell me if a new smart tv will function using a Verizon 3G mifi?

it should workthe mifi doesn't care what device is connecting, as long as you can enter your mifi 'login' password from the the TVmy question is do you have experince with the smart TV and trying tyo navigate using the remote control

I hope I understand what a "SMART TV" is...The VERIZON MIFI will need a very large DATAPLAN to downstream all of the different down streaming TV signals. I think the lowest dataplan is 5GB which cost around $60 a month. A 5GB dataplan will not be enough data to operate heavy TV down streaming. Probably the best deal on down streaming large dataplans is the MILLENICOM network. Millenicom uses the Verizon Network for up to 20GB dataplans and up to 50GB using the Sprint Network.I would definitely shop around as this could be a very expensive project you may be taking on...Roy Ken

Mr Wizard,No I do not. This is still in the discussion stage.RoyB,I have an "unlimited" data plan, however I do not anticipate using it a lot for streaming movies etc. But, who knows.It takes a long time to get all this high tec stuff into this non-high tec head!

A 3G MiFi no not really well at all. Far too slow to provide reliable streaming of HD media IMHO. My 4G MiFi yes, no problem. But then there are no unlimited 4G MiFi data plans....

The "unlimited" plan from Verizon is a marketing name. There is a cap unless you have a very old data plan (10+ years) and are grandfathered in.The issue with using a smart TV and MiFi is data usage. The MiFi will certainly keep up if you have data coverage and your TV will see it as a data source. Unfortunately, your TV doesn't know if it is connected to a phone with a limited data plan, or a home wifi network with a huge data limit. I have used my phone to run my TV when my Internet is out and I hit my 5G limit in a few hours.
