I would hope there was an extra hard drive in the laptop. That is where the info needed to reinstall the OS is kept or should be and be a place to keep your data/picture files.
I would have liked to seen the warranty for the SSD. It should be about 5 years or more.
Defragging an SSD won't harm it, it's just that it's a complete waste of time. In order to ensure that writes are spread around so that some cells are not written to more often then others, the software does "wear leveling" which randomizes where writes take place in order to use all the cells of the ssd as evenly as possible. Defragging attempts to place all the parts of a file in a contiguous arrangement which cannot happen in an ssd.
