You can have 5 streams. You'll need to have the device on your home wifi to get it working the first time IIRC. So make sure the IP's match otherwise you can have issues. The service is designed to prevent account sharing via the vue app although you can login to provider apps just fine.
The service will work off your home network for most things but the DVR. You do have to set it up on your home network first though IIRC>
