why does it insist on choosing the northbound rest area even when i select the southbound one. thanks fellow sufferers!

Nothing is perfect. I still use Rand McNally TripMaker (last update 2000 or 2002) for the majority of my routing and then if I want more details I just move to Google Maps. I "have" S&T 2013 but find it to be very clunky compared to most anything else.
S&T 2013 is the last S&T that Microsoft is going to release so it's time to move on anyway!
