Sorry that didn't work for you. Perhaps I should have been more specific. Left click on the unwanted stop number and the selection box will appear around it. Left click again within that box and hold the button while you drag the box to the desired location and release.
Another way to accomplish this would be to zoom into the location you want the stop to be and do a right click, select "route", select "add as stop" and then delete the unwanted location.
