Remember...you asked.
1. IMHO: Bad idea.
2. IMHO: Yep.
Fact is, we have a surge protector hard wired into our 5'er and I also use a portable surge protector at the CG electrical connection box. Have they ever saved us from an electrical calamity? Probably not...we've just been lucky. But having the surge protectors make me feel better. No surge protector in the world is going to stop a mega surge from coming down a power line, blowing through any surge protector built, and blowing up every appliance in your RV. I've known folks over the years who even with a surge protector have had their RV's electric's and appliances ruined by a power surge. I figure I can at least tell my insurance carrier that I tried. My portable surge protector has prevented me from plugging into a bad CG power connection (low voltage). That's gotta be worth sumthin.
So, ya have to ask yerself one question; "Do ya feel lucky? Well, do ya?" :B As a wise old supervicor told me many decades ago...he said, "Don, you do whatever you feel is best for your future career." That advice has served me well. Good luck.
Happy camping!!! See y'all down the road!!!:)
Thanks Don you have been very helpful. Not sure how lucky I am feeling ;)
