OH Verizon.. They have long claimed and delivered the best coverage area, However more recently AT&T and T-mobile have both improved coverage areas.. now I do not know if this is still in effect but last time I was in the proper area my T-Mobile phones became AT&T, at least for voice. (Do not recall if I had data).
Verizon however is a conglomeration of several older companies including General Telephone and Electronics (GTE or Generally Terrible Electronics as I call them).
My parents had GTE telephone service.. they impressed me as the WORST customer service of any company I had ever dealt with at the time (I've since dealt with worse) but.. When the installer came to my parent's house he could not figure out where they wanted the MOUNTED phone (Big 1-2" high letters PHONE HERE in magic marker on the wall) Next one brought the wrong phone, final one installed the phones but.... On that system the ringers and phones are not one piece but 2, He put all the bells in the basement.. I had to move one set upstairs.
And that is just one of several stories.. I had to offer to call the public service commission to get 'em to fix a problem once.. and I'm not the only one.
Well they also do 2-way Satellite Interenet.. I pulled into a campground (Thousand Trails Las Vegas) and noticed the hardware lying on the ground next to the maintenance barn. Manager said "They are coming Friday to install" Friday came and went, came and went, I went, To Quartsite, via a stop in Palmdale, CA
One week in Palmdale, 2 in QZ, one across the London Bridge and back to LV.. Friday came and went, Friday came and went again, and still as I pulled out headed back to Michigan,,, the hardware had not moved one inch.
No, I will never recommend Verizon.
