T-Mobile Vs Verizon??

Our Tracfone/Verizon Android smart phones cost us on average $16/month for voice, text, and data, and our AT&T "Connected Car" (Mobley) unlimited 4G/LTE hotspot data plan costs $20/month. Plus we have a 3rd-party grey market Verizon unlimited 3G hotspot at $5/month we can use if we happen to find an AT&T dead spot, making our total monthly phone/data cost about $45 including fees & taxes.

We have used T for the last decade. There are some coverage gaps, but the monies saved can buy us a couple Iphone X's. Being without phone coverage for a while doesn't matter in the big picture.

I just switched from AT&T due to price and poor cust serv. My DH went on MINTsim.com, which uses T-Mobile and AT&T towers, and I went with RedPocket, where you pick which carrier you want (ATT, Ver, T-Mo or Sprint). All same low price... one third of ATT's price.

I chose ATT, so I still have exactly the same coverage as I had, which was good, but at a much lower cost.

If we don't like this setup, I can swich our Moto G5 phone to ANY carrier, using RP, as they, and the phone are compatible with them all.

We have Verizon via Tracfone for our phones, and AT&T as our primary data provider with Verizon as a backup. We also have VOIP apps on our phones, so even if we should happen to find a non-Verizon area where only AT&T works, we still have phone service. We have previously had both Sprint and T-Mobile services, and dumped them both due to poor coverage. T-Mobile is better than Sprint, and T-Mobile has even better coverage if you have a new enough device that supports all five of the frequency bands T-M uses now, including band 71 that they're rolling out this year. Verizon and AT&T still beat it on overall coverage though.

Our area is rural and Verizon hands down... Also we have had great customer support.

I have had no problems with Verizon customer service
Whether it was a billing error, service change, or replacing va broken phone

Ya....T-Mobile showed us "their" map - looked great, very impressive...until you actually get out and on the real road. The places we go were covered by the T-Mobile map, but we got little or no coverage.

Verizon worked great in these same places.

I am going to talk to my T-Mobile person about that 55+ plan.....

For many years Verizon had the best coverage map. I mean most all the nation was covered by V, some gaps, but nobody is 100%.... My reason for not going with V has to do with previous bad experiences with the companies that merged to form it (Cuss-Some-More Service you see) I'm told they are good for Personal Cells but. Well. why risk it. TOo many stories where I am actually involved.

However AT&T a couple years ago made a MAJOR improvement in their coverage map and last I checked T-mobile had an agreement with AT&T since back in the day T-Mobile, well it was Omnipoint then, had the only GSM network and AT&T changed to GSM as well (The Codec for the phones,.. Or how they talk to the tower)

Today the maps all look a lot alike.. So I'm sticking with T.
