Temperature Alert for Pets using Text

I need a device that plugs into an outlet on our RV that will text me an alert if the temperature gets too high (or low).

It needs to work without internet.

I know the technology exists because I have it currently.

It not only sends me a text if the temperature gets too high, or there is a power failure, but I can send it a text to double check the temperature and make sure it's working well.

The device I have is from Cell Sign Technology. I paid about $130 ten months ago. It worked fine until about a month ago. I also pay a $12 monthly subscription.

The guy I bought it from thinks a power surge fried it. I don't know how that could happen since we have a high end Progressive Industries Surge protector.

Bottom line is, it no longer works and now I need a new one because it's getting very hot where we are located and we don't want to leave our pets unprotected.

The same one I paid $130 ten months ago has gone up to $240.

My question is: Can anyone point me in the direction of the same type of device. It needs to run on SMS text, NOT internet.

    Contact an alarm company or 10.
    Maybe also cell phone stores (real ones, not a kiosk in the mall).

    P.S. Have you tried a Google (or similar) search for "remote temperature alarms" ??

    I am currently working on software for a device that connects similarly that you are wanting. But, I think there is some terminology that might be hindering your search.

    Any current device would be at least 3G for cell communications and can send SMS text messages or connect to the internet and either way the data goes to the same place. In our case we connect to the internet using a secure connection and from there, SMS text messages are sent to a phone. SMS text messages can also be sent to the device. And we also have an app that can display other data.

    Anyhow, I think maybe you are searching for a device that uses 3G instead on WiFi for it's connection as opposed to searching for something that does not connect to the internet. And then the question is whether you specifically need SMS text messages or can use an app on a phone.

    David..... You are going way over my head... LOL.

    I am searching for something exactly like what I have now. I am a little aggravated that the device lasted less than a year with no warranty, and that the new one is twice the price I paid.

    I don't know exactly how it works, only that I don't need Wifi and I get text alerts and I can also send texts to confirm temperature inside the RV.

    Is there any other better terminology I should use when searching? Do you have anything ready for sale yet?

    I was trying to suggest instead of searching for no internet, that you searched for something with a 3g/4g cellular connection.

    Our device doesn't send temperature or power information it is for dogs.

    That is a pretty cool device you linked!

    My personal opinion is the MarCELL® Cellular Monitoring System, posted by Y-Guy, has the added advantage of alerting in the event of a power outage, power outage = 8-9 second outage versus just brown-outs. If there were a power outage, that can alert you sooner versus waiting for the device temp sensor to alarm on a high temp reading. You are also given 9 total "numbers" to be alerted on. I can enter my and my wife's mobile for text, voice call and also enter both our emails. Could also put my kid's mobiles on there too for added back-up. The Amazon questions/answers have a lot of good info on the MarCELL device.

    In a hot environment the temp will start climbing quick but that also would indicate you need to respond faster so the indication of a power outage is preferred in my opinion.
