Lets be honest, texting is mostly just unnecessary anyway chit-chat (like right now). Share this, share that. Does anyone keep anything private anymore? It's great for notification of IMPORTANT things, like work-related stuff or delivered packages or emergencies, but that's about it.
4K+ texts per month??? That's absurd. No kid of mine would be allowed to do that. When I was a teenager, I was either in school (getting my fair share of "text") or outside doing some kind of activity. There are kids on my street that I rarely see. I know they exist though. The only time they seem to flood the streets is during the holidays, when grandma and grandpa are in town. Technology, while helpful shouldn't be something society becomes dependent on. Sad really.
