I don't see how they could care much about such a small market. With the emerging 5g networks (currently under development), the claim is that the cell network will be able to carry the data usage. A small portion of the population will fall outside of that cell coverage, but not enough to come even close to covering the cost of maintaining an effective satellite system.
We are streamers. We stream at home via cable internet with no television or satellite service. When we camp, a $30 Roku in the TV connects to the hotspot on my cell phone and streams all of the same content. There is a rare ocassion that we are limited to over the air due to a lack of cell service, but 90+% of our travels allow for streaming - and that coverage is only going to grow.
I think it be a while before satellite completely disappears, but it is going to be increasingly difficult to sustain its viability with the accessibility of web-based options.
