When we camp, a $30 Roku in the TV connects to the hotspot on my cell phone and streams all of the same content.
What is it, specifically, that you stream? Current shows on major networks?
As has been mentioned - for us it is most all of the core networks that we watch. NBC, CBS, ABC, Fox...the major news outlets are on there (CNN, MSNBC, FoxNews), as is ESPN. This is all on YouTubeTV. Other streaming options have different channels. We also get HBO free through our ATT wireless plan and have carried Netflix for years. When we cut the cable we dropped our overall bill by $175 per month and find that, with a few minor compromises, we are more happy, overall, with the service. The ability to have the exact same thing when we are travelling (at no additional cost) is ever better.
And, yes, Nat Geo and Nat Geo Wild are offered, as are IFC, Smithsonian, and some of the BBC channels. For many, cutting the cable for a provider like this, and then adding a couple of particular streaming options independently (such as Hallmark) seems to be the best solution.
