Instead of having to pay huge bills to fly a new bird every few years, and run the ground uplink stations, they can pass the buck onto us consumers; we will pay for the transport, either through wireless service or direct connect internet.

Seen this coming for several years. They started pushing their joke directnow what three years ago. They expect us idiots to stream. When that happens Dish will gwt a huge boost. Now if Dish will add some channels currently not on their lineup I will be gone.

Eventually, but not this year. Not good for us RVers in poor service cell locations. How is the current infrastructure of wireless data service going to handle the supposed huge increase in traffic?

Of course, we all like to camp in dense urban areas where 5G is being deployed.I don't think any of the providers give one hoot about customers in RVs.

Where we live they said cable will never come. The Dsl quites a few times a day and they say we don't need a new phone line on the street because everyone has cell service. We have one bar of AT&T if we go in the living room and nothing in the rest of the house, no Verizon anywhere near the house. The world is not connected like they think it is.

I can stream live programming from nearly all of the major "cable" networks plus the big 4 OTA networks. One oddity with streaming local channels though, is that which "locals" I get depends on which cell service I'm using at the time.

I get IFC, CNN and HLN free with my ATT wireless.

L ive str eaming and on demand, doesn't count against data. However on demand has a lot of commercial interruptions if you're on 4g and not WiFi.

i don't know about 'always', but so far it is correct. Computers are a tool.. their intelligence comes from the really smart people who program them that way.

Good to know, thanks. Only problem now is getting data service in the boonies. Plus, I never watch live TV.. everything is so easily recorded on my DTV box.

Another post was asking about dog-slow internet in Tucson AZ. I wouldn't want to miss shows because of that!!

Yes..

On my Roku selection I can stream channels from many other countries including Canada..

Cable/Satellite TV is died, I cut my cord 4 years ago and I get thousands of channels and many are FREE...

My total bill is $300 a Year..
