Got a sneaking suspicion that this is yet another waaaay overhyped event. What exactly constitutes 1.2 billion account holders? It surely can't be 1.2 billion individual people, because I doubt that there are that many people in the world who have accounts with passwords, since a large percentage of the world's population consists of incredibly poor people in China, India and Africa who have no accounts to password protect. Another large segment of the population are children, again with no accounts to protect. If they stole your password to get onto your World of Warcraft account, does it really matter if they steal your battle ostrich (apologies to Sheldon Cooper of the Big Bang Theory)? Then you are still dealing with the laws of large numbers. If even one one-hundredth of the supposed accounts were actual accounts that could have something of value stolen from them, there is still only a one in 12,000,000 chance of it being your account. Those are dang near lottery odds.
