When I realized, just a few week ago, that my cell phone is tracking every where I go, and I bumped into something on that thing that displayed every where I'd been in the last several months, even which business I patronized, and which restraunts I ate at, and how many times I went to my work office, and times I left for work and came home, or deviated for an errand, .... I decided to start leaving my cell phone at home unless I really need the thing for some reason. There was a day we had only phones in our houses. I'm old enough to adapt back to those days without having a melt down because I'm all of a sudden ... without technology!
Unfortunately, both my vehicles have OnStar and both vehicles are tracking absolutely everything too. Ever consider speeding? Running a stop sign! You better not! the equivelant "black box" in your automobile is tracking absolutely every inch your vehicle travels and monitors every movement and how fast. It knows all! If it ever came down to a court of law, your driving pattern can be retrieved (literally, second by second!)... Scary stuff. There is no such thing as "privacy" any more.
Donald Trump (please, I'm not being political here), made a very interesting statement last week that really grabbed my attention. The topic of discussion dealt with some things that were caught supposedly caught on video. He made the comment that it doesn't matter where you go or what you do, there is a camera somewhere watching you! Why would anyone do anything that would raise questions about your behavior these days with everything we do being recorded! (Here again, please, no political overtones...) The statement was a reality wake up. I know cameras and recording devices are every where, but it's the way he said it, that shook me into a bit of George Orwell 1984!
Scary stuff. Yes, we have no privacy! So ... you are watching your television right now? Connected to the internet? Are you ABSOLUTELY SURE your television is NOT watching YOU!...
