Think It Will Be Possible To Survive 6-8 Years On Windows 7?

Or is there alarming tidbits and evidence that subsciption services are going to force non Windows 10 into oblivion? When I head south I do not want to purchase a Latin American laptop with different ...

I like WildToad's suggestion. I do have an iPad which does pretty much all email and WEB browsing stuff I need, but quite frankly, for those of us who need rather specialized software for our hobbies or work, the tablets simply don't have it available. As a ham radio operator there is far too much software I use that is not available at all for either Android or IOS systems. In fact much of what I want to use is not available for Linux either.
