Another thing is to check and see if Interstate highways are set as highest priority of roadway types.
Almost all GPS has some customization possible, and very necessary for RV use.
Also know how to set waypoints to force the GPS off its 'preferred' route.
I never use my GPS for more than one day's drive. Multi-day drives always choose the 'wrong' route.

It's 'operator error' if you do not take the time and look at ALL the settings on your GPS. And set them accordingly.
I am still using a TomTom I bought in 2006. Have not updated any maps to it and it STILL gets me where I need to go.
