It sounds like most just plug in an address and go! And then complain 'it took me thru a major city', 'it took me down a dirt road', etc etc.
Don't any of you LOOK at all the settings? After you put the address in you can go into settings and VIEW each way point and/or the whole trip planned and see if you don't want to go the programmed route and change it BEFORE you even hit the road.
Plus if you turn a different way than the GPS wants you to, it automatically recalculates the trip still based on your destination.
Your GPS may only show 8 settings but on almost all of them there are settings within each setting and on an on.
I know it did take me awhile to find them all but it's endless what you can make your GPS do for you if you take the time to find and learn all the settings.
My GPS is 9 years old and I do NOT update it with any of the new updates or update maps they tell you to. If I come up to a road that has been closed or moved over it stops for a whole 2 seconds and recalculates it to the new road. It IS a GPS.:W
