Took this last night
Took this picture last night of the "blood moon" with Mars to the right side of the moon. Just wanted to share it. Oops, picture is too large to show Mars.

but did you maybe post the link to "photo icon" instead of the link to the full picture ? - I have a Nikon coolpix 520 it has a 42 power zoom the pics came out good but I don't know why there so tiny in the link?
- I used a Nikon Coolpix L120 and propped it against the wall in the back yard. It took several tries to get this one good shot. It is very hard to keep steady in full zoom mode. Ironically, I don't like this camera much because it doesn't have a view finder, just the lcd window which I find hard to keep still. It works best on a tripod, actually.
- What type of camera did you use to get such a spectacular picture of something at night and 238,857 miles away? :B

I had big plans to take a "Blood Moon over Seattle" pic but was foiled by the dense cloud cover-grrrr.
There's a little-known and barely accessible spot in my "neighborhood" from which one can see the thirty-some-miles-away skyline clearly enough to make out the Space Needle- thought it would be stupendous to see that skyline with the "blood moon" hangin' over it. Guess maybe I'll try again in October...
