Tracvision Hook Up

I am trying to hook up a Dish 301 receiver to the KVH Tracvision SF dome on my motor home. With the help of DishNetwork Tech Services we did finally get tuned in to Sat #61.5 which I was told would not be show channels I am looking for. After several attempts to find another satelite I was advised that it may be a setting in the dome itself. Now I am really lost and need to know if this something I can do or if I need to locate a pro to assist. Does anyone know what may be involved at this point? They say I should be looking for Sat #110 and/or 119.
  • I have a copy of the quick setup guide. It tells you how to switch between Dish and Direct TV. Send me your email and I'll send you a copy.
  • Please re-read my post. A dome might (by mistake) lock to any satellite if it's not configured correctly. However, it could also be that old receiver or the age of the dome you are trying to use. It would be best to find a good KVH dealer/installer with the correct software.
  • We did get hooked up to Sat 61.5 so the dishnetwork rep seems to think we are on dish. We are just not able to get 110 or 119. I am not concerned with HD just programming. Does anyone think I may have to get with KVH for assistance? Other suggestions are appreciated.

If this is new or if the previous owner was a DirecTV customer, the antenna is set to work with DirecTV only. If that's that case you will need to find a dealer who has the special software kvh flash update wizard and cabling to reprogram the antenna for Dish. I can cost between $75 and $200 for someone to do this for you.
If it's not fairly new, then you may need a software update as well to work correctly. If it's more than about 5-6 years old you will only be able to receive the 110 and 119 satellites but not the 129 where most of the HD programming is located without a hardware update as well.
