transfer pictures from cell phone to laptop

Well, everyone might laugh. I just send my cell phone pictures to my e-mail address. My phone is an older model.

Me laugh? What is a "cell phone"? what is "e-mail"? LOL, I'm in the same boat as you. Technology hasn't caught up with me yet but, I'm hoping.

I'm doing the same thing, sending them to my email. If someone has a better idea I'd like to know.

I have the same phone as op and that is the way I do it,seems easier than using the app and hooking up a cable and opening up a program and all. See my profile, easy as pie to get it there or any other place.

My phone has an itty bitty card in it and it came with an sd adapter. I take the card out of phone, put it in adapter, find folder where pics are and drag them to where I want them on computer. This is only if your phone has a card if not...email works too.

I use Dropbox. I have the Dropbox app installed on my phone and Dropbox running on my computer. When I want a picture moved from my phone to my computer, I just upload the picture to my Dropbox account "in the cloud" from my phone and it will automatically be synced to my computer.

Likewise, anything I have on my computer that I want to be able to access from my phone, I move to a Dropbox folder on my computer and it is automatically synced with my Dropbox account.

The nice thing about Dropbox is that I can set it up to keep multiple computers synced and I can access my content from my phone or my tablet.

Dropbox is free with 2G of storage space. If you need more storage space than that you can buy it. There are also ways to get extra space (by inviting friends to sign up. No, this posting doesn't count as an invite). I personally have a free account with 8.25GB of storage space.

I would agree a Dropbox type service is among the easiest as it is automatic and wireless. You can use it with WiFi only, so doesn't use your mobile data.

When you take a new photo or video, Dropbox will auto upload a copy to their servers, which will sync back and be available on your desktop, notebook, or tablets. It's all done for you, so no further intervention required on your part.

Dropbox will actually give you up to 5G of free storage for using their photo upload feature. A big advantage is that Dropbox allows direct linking of photos, such as for posting on RV.NET. No file size restrictions, and they permit up to 15G of data bandwidth per day on free accounts.

I like that...guess I need to take advantage of that since I do have a dropbox account. Gots to get educated on it! :h
