Transfering photos?

I am using a Dell laptop with windows 7.
I have several photos on some discs and wish to move some of them into a file on my computer so I can make a disc with only those I wish to have. How do I go about creating this file and moving them into it?
Hope I asked this right???

    Right click on an open area of the desktop (or wherever you want this folder) and click NEW and FOLDER. Then you can rename this folder "photos" or anything else you like.

    Now, double click on this new folder to open it.

    Insert the disc with your photos, and drag and drop the photos into the new folder.

    Be careful though, some kinds of discs, you can erase the photo from the disc. If you right click and drag, it will let you select between MOVE and COPY.
