I make a lot of photos while travelling, and back them up from the camera card to the laptop. Most tablets aren't set up to allow that, possibly some are. But you may have very limited storage space on the tablet, even if the backup is physically possible.
Some newer cameras have built-in wifi so you can backup directly to online storage. My next one will.
So if backing up any pics/documents while you travel is important to you, a laptop is the way to go.
