Trouble with updated iOS 11

SETTINGS ---- DO NOT DISTURB ---- DO NOT DISTURB WHILE DRIVING

You can go in and configure it as you wish, from happening automatically to OFF completely.

Let's not make this a bigger deal than it is.

iOS 11 runs really well on our new iPhones, available now in any of our stores. Sorry we broke your old, obsolete, worn out one with a forced software update (not really), but we know you want to upgrade anyway. The new ones are inexpensive, too, only $1000. - Apple

Maybe Apple is just trying to keep up with newer Distracted Driving laws! Currently Washington and Oregon have pretty stiff fines for using your phone while driving. It does allow hands free single swipe/touch for navigation or answering an incoming call.

OP, more info is needed. Is it all the time that you and the wife can’t text, or only while she is driving? Do other people texting your wife have the same problem? Has she tried restarting her phone?

Sorry to hear you have issues with IOS 11. I updated my iPhone 6 Plus, wife’s 6s when it first came out along with two iPads. Have had no significant issues. I’ve had some minor things dealing with photos but don’t know if it’s related to IOS 11 or just the app as I didn’t use photo library in the cloud before now.

Have since upgraded to 8 Plus and regular 8 phones and things are going good with the exception of the photo thing. I’m always amazed that with millions upon millions of devices out there, with different chipsets, software mods by the telco companies, that actually so few folks have issues. Hope you get your problems resolved quickly.

IOS11 seems to have some real problems. Now your forced to block the car mode, DWs 7S turns on airplane mode automatically, when were in the car it seems to believe she is a driver and blocks use. It can be sort of turned off, but geeze Apple wake up. I know lots of people love their Apple junk, but Im not one of them.
