TrueCrypt successor

I haven't seen a recent update as to what the future for TrueCrypt might be. Some feel it will remain a viable encryption program, even without support. I don't have a clue.

My question is: is there any other good encryption software that you have had first hand experience with??

Truecrypt site suggests Bitlocker on Windows 7 machines (doesn't help the Mac or *nix users), but I am holding out hope since TC was open source that some group will take the source and carry on with a fork of it.

For now I still actually use TrueCrypt on the few machines I encrypt (just my laptops in case they are lost or stolen).

My workplace has taken to BitLocker on ALL 30,000 of its machines, which quirks aside is working out PRETTY well.
