We have problems with our booster plate connected for the cable. Has nothing to do with whether booster switch is on or off.
Antenna connection works fine for air, but we unplugged the cable connection from the switch box, and attach the TV directly to the cable that runs out to the outside corner connection on our Casita (when we have available cable at site).
