Almost every tv has one of 3 or 4 standard screw patterns listed in mm distance from ea other ....look up vesa mounts .. they are the industry standard . 100x100 400x400 400x600 etc I have looked at walmart and never seen one without. was the old tv a flat screen ? Perhaps you need a proper mounting bracket ?
