I've seen exactly the opposite, hence have never needed to research. All of our Samsung's running 24/7 (they are never turned off and always have a picture or graphic) have been 100% reliable since 2007. Of the roughly 45-50 total monitors in production control room service, 4 are Sony XBR (they were on sale), and 3 have died, all from component failure. Hopefully that's a fluke because a 75% failure rate ain't good.
I also have an XBR, but only because I couldn't find a Samsung that had what I needed. So far, so good on that one.
