My 42" LG is going on 5 years old and has performed flawlessly. At the time we bought it, it was a medium priced set ($1100.00) and the only one in its price range that had the features I wanted at the time. Interestingly enough, the sales guy asked why we wanted an LG. I told him that I did the research and it was the best one in that range. He said most people walked in and bought Samsung without knowing why other than that's what their friends bought.

our curremt TV 2yrs old next month is a Vizio
the previous TV was an Olivea

very happy with both
would still be watching the Olivea , IF my cheap mount had not broke and dropped the TV breaking the screen

i spent good bucks on a quality mount when i installed the Vizio

I love my flat screen Vizio.

I heard a rumor that Panasonic bought Sanyo, now this is just a rumor no facts. Roy

I've had my panasonic plasma HDTV for 10yrs.

You can get lost in the specs, pick a budget and goto the stores and look at the pictures. I'm partial to Samsung and Panasonic, my eyes are always drawn to them.
