Bought a new Newmar MH with a standard Winegard antenna and find myself having problem reception especially when we are several miles away from a major city. We watch mainly the general channels such as NBC,ABC,CBS,PBS, etc and do not want to spend the money for a satellite dish and a monthly fee for service.Anyone have ideas as to makes, models, of antenna's that have boosters and which are the best in your opinion.

Locate the antenna booster power supply. Normally close to the main TV. There should be a small switch, some push button some slide. Has small LED that lights up when on.

I am aware of the antenna booster and use the bottom to turn on the unit. But, even with booster on our reception is poor and get a very few choices on channels,if any at all...Plus, I get a few local channels but seldom get more than one national channel like say NBC..

Verify setup in the TV menuSeen many where the cables were not connected to the right placeI would suggest moving to other forum

Welcome to the the world of HDTV over the air, it is a signal or nothing and you may have to re aim for each channel and reprogram the tv, the TV Antenna Helper smartphone app may help, do not believe all the hype about miracle HDTV antennas

Actually, the correct forum to send this is Technology Corner, not Tech Issues. TC deals with electronics in your RV; Tech Issues deals with both chassis vehicle issues and everything non-electronic in the house section.

Our TT had terrible reception when new. I found that when they wired the ant receptacles, they used wire strippers to trim all the Shielding off. I reworked all the connections and it worked fine (big surpise eh?).

A antenna that has gone bad is not a impossible thing. They have been known to fail.

If you have the Winegard batwing, especially the new Sensar, you have about the best. Per your profile location, you should get all the networks and a lot more. Ask you neighbors what they are getting. The station finder shows lots of stations for your location.

We have the Winegard Sensor Iv antenna, and the sensor booster wall plate. No problem picking up any available channels within a 60 mile radius, and have reached 70 miles over flat country.

Make sure your antenna is pointed toward the transmitter towers. There are a number of web sites to locate the towers.

Here is one.

You might want to be more specific about what antenna you have. I don't believe there is really a "standard" antenna. Some have an add on which is supposed to improve digital reception.

I'm puzzled what this has to do with the Good Sam Club since it is in the club section.

Are you 'AIMING' the head of antenna towards the TV transponder towers??
