TV replacements for my RV

Good morning I have been searching this forum for a couple of days and have not been able to find much information in regards to my specific needs. I purchased a used 2007 Winnebago-Itasca Sunova 35J bunkhouse. The current setup includes a 27" RCA in the front 2 fold down bunk TV's with built in DVD and one 17" Toshiba in the bedroom. The coach also has a built in surround system that appears to be fed off of the Panasonic DVD player. The coach has all the systems tied into a A/V box that allows you to choose what will be see on the different TV's in the coach. IE. Aux,Sat,Cable,VCR. My questions would be:

1. If i replace both Tube TV's with LED could i still use the A/V selector switch? to feed the rear room TV thru coax or would i have to run new wire down to the room?

2. Will my current setup pull digital signal and process it for the new TV's or would i have to update my antenna and A/V selector box.

3. If the DVD were not to work how do i get the surround sound to work with a new DVD.

My issue is the current setup did not want to work at the campground using cable. My wife and young girls were not happy campers and i need to find a solution to my entertainment problems.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Kiwi The surround sound came with the coach. It has 5 speakes and a sub. the speakers are in the ceiling and look like eggs. they are currently tied into the Panasonic dvd\hometheater system. This appears to be a factory item from winnebago as it shows up when i did a search of the wire diagrams on their website. I thought i would have to rewire the coach from front to back. Basically if i replace the tvs and hook up to the existing i should be able to put up the antenna and do a channel search and pick up the locals correct?

What Pana HT do you have? You probably don not have to do any rewiring, except connecting new TV to Pana HT. Are all electronics in the same cabinet?

Sure did! I set the A/V box to cable for both TV's and set both TV's to Cable and ran the channel scan. Both TV's showed the same message from Brighthouse. Im just curious if maybe some cable companys have gone full digital and forcing people to change out their TV's. Our Family friend that was in the coach next to us has flat screen tv's in his coach as its a 2009 and 1 out of his 3 tvs showed the same error.

Thanks but in both camp grounds i would only pick up one channel thru cable and it stated my tv was not digital.

is the campground just picking up OTA TV signals and piping them out to the sites? I have old TVs hooked up to the campground "cable" hookup and it works fine.

Could be possible but what popped up on the TV screens was a message from BrightHouse cable. Regarless im thinking of swapping out at least the Main TV to an led and use the existing compartment as storage. I just was not sure if digital signal would flow thru that A/V Box and i would have to replace everything.

Yes. As stated, HDMI will not work through the splitter. See # 3 below.

    2. Will my current setup pull digital signal and process it for the new TV's or would i have to update my antenna and A/V selector box.

New TVs will be digital so can use the digital signal natively. No antenna or A/V se;evtor update needed.

    3. If the DVD were not to work how do i get the surround sound to work with a new DVD.

Not sure what you are replacing with. Does current DVD have surround sound? On new TVs you can run the digital (optical) audio back to a Home Theater to play sound. Would need more info on what you are buying as a DVD/HT.

    1. New LED TV's will work with the selector box. The old TV's needed a converter box to find and locate digital channels for watching. It can be discarded when TV's are replaced.

    2. The current antenna is fine, unless a crappy omnidirectional antenna was installed. Selector box is fine. I suspect the speakers were just standard stereo speakers (left and right, with two in front and two in back).

    3. You would have to connect the speakers to whatever device you wished to use them on, which is currently the DVD player.

Also if you choose to use a TV for OTA, cable, etc., you must select that TV and then go to it's menu to select the desired setup.

For OTA that means: antenna, raising the antenna, turning on power injector for antenna-amplifier, and scanning for available channels. Any other TV must be also selected and scanning done.

The system you have now will work with new Led's if they have a cable input.
You just can't use the HDMI input on them.
Your set up now with present TV's should work with any campground cable.

If the A/V has a cable input from campground.
Then the TV's have to be changed to a Cable input in menu and then search for channels.

Can't help with the sound issue.
