Easy. I did it and actually saved money.
This plan will not work for you if you don't have home cable.
I dropped Comcast. Picked up Dish for the house --net savings of about $100 per month and have more channels.
I bit the bullet for a 1-time purchase of $100 for a Tailgater antenna and $80 for the receiver. This was a few years ago and I got a good deal on a Tailgater that someone was selling on Craigslist. There is a new version of the Tailgater so you may do better on price on the old version.
Now, when I need Dish in the RV I pay $7 per month to activate that receiver. I turn it on in April/May for travel season and turn it off after my last tailgate party. This year that will be WVU hosts OK State October 28. Just in time to save me the $7 for November.
If you want to save a few bucks, you could carry the receiver from the house for every trip.
Get about 200 channels with lots of the sports channels for just about every game possible.
