TV

Why I have to unplug my front TV ro unable it to come on in my Allegro 2014 Open Road Motorhome when ever we unplug the house power to get to our campground. No other TV (3) in the coach does this. It seem to reset it self when unplugged and replugged after about 30 seconds. Any help is appreciated.

Ok I will take a GUESS, and I stress this is a GUESS so if I am wrong, your FREE is cheerfully refunded.

You have an inverter that powers the TVs (And perhaps other things) at least THAT TV, when you are not on shore power or running the genrator.

When you unplug there is a brief "Blip" as it were in the power feed to that tv as the transfer relay in the inverter.. Transfers.

Modern TV's are computers.. Very powerful Digital computers.. now in the old analog days everything was "Hard wired" so there was no program running to speak of But with today's Digital wide screen HD sets.. The computer may be sensistive to that blip.. Just like a desktop can be reset by such a blip.

No solution that I know of other than turn off inverter.
  • Logic says that that particular TV is not loosing power when you unplug. So, logically, you are running that TV on an inverter when you move.

We can do the same thing with ours as 2 of our TVs are not plugged into the inverter but one is. Nothing wrong with the TV, just turn off the inverter.
  • As stated above, every brand of television operates different. Newer televisions will retain previous scanned channels. Seems older one don't. Are all the other televisions in your coach newer? If so, then that is just the nature of that television. Loose power, and it has to be reset or rescanned.
  • You state " No other TV (3) in the coach does this"
Are they all the same brand and model?
