Understanding LED Vocabulary

I hope the title describes it. I am looking for some LEDs on line and the descriptions mean little to me.

Here is one for the LED I would like to purchase.

T10 194 W5w Cob 8

I get the 194, bulb size.

What about the T10?

W5w?

Cob 8?

I have a couple of LEDs in the rv now and the work okay but I don't like the color (kind of a bluish white) and they aren't very bright. The Canbus connector seems to work best for my lights.

Thanks in advance.
  • First three are bulb sizes, I think w5w is an Asian marking, my Subaru has some that size.

COB is most likely chip on board, so you have a flat aluminum or ceramic board with 8 led chips attached to it, all covered with a silicone phosphorus coating. Cob has become very popular lately, it eliminates expensive packaging around individual LED chips, and helps with cooling.

T10 is a wedge base, same as 194. Cobb means round with 8 LED chips. Go to EBay for the best prices, pictures, and you want warm white.
