Unlimited wifi no contract and what happened to mobley?

If you can live with 3G speeds, there are services available on eBay that will "flash" an existing Verizon hotspot to use an unlimited Verizon 3G plan at just $5/month. It's a grey area legally though, so no guarantees on when or if Verizon will shut them down. We've used two flashed Jetpacks for about a year, currently as backups to our AT&T Mobley/Connected Car $20 unlimited 4G/LTE plan, and they both work quite well. We've even streamed TV programs with them with minimal buffering.
