I called Directv today and wanted to swap out a 24 for another (second) 34 or a new 44. They said NO WAY, only one Genie per account. Not sure why but suspect it is due to shortage and not technical. I wanted to leave my 34 at home and take another Genie with me. From what I read, even if I ordered and paid for myself, Directv would not allow activation.
