More detail than you want, but as a programmer, we have detested IE sine v6. While the rest of the world was standardizing on many things, Microsoft said "^%$@$#@ the world..." and started doing things their own way.
That forced me to write a ton of extra programming code to just make sure my website worked on IE.
It was awful.
As a business person, making and keeping my website IE could add 30-50% to the total cost.
Then came mobile, and we web nerds were ready to commit acts of grievous bodily harm in Redmond. ;)
Under new management, (and loss of market share), Microsoft has started playing nice, playing by the same rules everyone else is.
Life's a bit better. :)
