Why do you need a computer? That is an essential question. Word processing and surfing the web is very different from editing videos.
I have a friend with a Surface Pro (2?) who loves it. Best of both worlds in tablet and laptop without breaking the bank. I switched to Mac after the Windows ME disaster soured me on MS but use Windows at work and it seems to have improved. I do miss being able to tinker but if you are using a Geek (Best Buy) then that is not you.
I will note that you said you had the PC remotely cleaned. I would be cautious in giving admin access remotely to your computer. Lots of scams. Take heed to the advice as well to not use your administrator account when surfing the web.
