We take our home receiver in the MH. That means that the receiver has to be compatible with both antennas. And you might need to change the receiver settings for both different dishes and TVs.
Over time we have evolved to the current equipment that is plug and play.
Consider that a tripod can have wind issues and that should be considered. If it blows over and gets damaged you may need to replace some of the dish parts. DTV has or had a very stable ground mount held down with 4 cinder blocks. With your limited mobility that might be best for you.
For us the HR44 receiver is ideal because we time shift watching and skip the ads. Also if a tree is in the way we have plenty of shows to watch. Be advised that this receiver requires a single coax SWM type of dish. It also detects the TV type with the HDMI cable and automatically adjusts it's settings - ie plug and play.
