I had little trouble setting up my DTV dish, and I travelled quite frequently. Before I moved to a new location, I would find the compass coordinates on the Internet for that location. First I would set the azimuth (the vertical) setting to the required setting, then using a small pocket compass, adjust the horizontal position of the dish. This has to be done fairly slowly and, of course, if there are any obstructions, such as trees the tripod will have to be moved to a more suitable locationy. Be sure to have a reasonably long cable for such an eventualityThere are different ways folks use to test signal strength, such as an inline signal strength meter. In my case, I simply turned the TV volume up to a point where I could here it at the tripod. After a while, you will get the hang of it. I actually enjoyed the challenge of the set up process. My dish had only a single LNB, which made for easier setup. If that isn't the case with your dish, the setup gets a little more complicated.
